Protein enzymes are not like casein, bacterial walls, parasitic protective films or even soya and gelatine proteins. These are catalysts which literally increase the speed of the chemical process that would make absorption and digestion as well as cleansing of the body possible.
Long chains of amino acids held together by peptide bonds are what consist of enzymes which are proteins too. They are found in all living things where they perform a large role in the metabolic process of any living organism. This is the only way that the nutrients from ingested foods are broken down into tiny particles and converted into the energy that the body needs as well as becoming fresh material for cells reproduced.
Enzymes are specific proteins, they will only act on specific things, good thing there are a lot of them that could act on a lot of things that are met inside the body. There are protein enzymes designed to break down the parasitic protective barriers and bacterial walls so that they are destroyed and flushed out of the body along with urine and faecal matter. There are some which are specific on toxins and pathogens in blood which could cause an autoimmune reaction like inflammation and allergies. In short, if they find something to attack to make the body safe, they will do so to prevent infections or inflammations and to clean out the blood in the process.
They are so good in what they do that enzymes are actually recyclable. Simply because they have done their job does not mean that they are destroyed and flushed out of the body, actually, once they finish what they set out to do they turn around and look for more to convert and to clean.
The human body is where these enzymes work best. From the moment anyone eats anything, the enzymes are already hard at work. In the mouth, the alpha-amylase will start breaking down the food particles in the mouth into smaller forms of sugars like when one is eating pasta, potatoes or rice.
In the stomach, the food particles are further broken down by pepsin, an enzyme found in gastric juices. These will release the vitamins, mineral and nutrients found in the foods which will automatically be taken up by the body and utilized. This will result to an increase in energy. And all these happen even before the pancreatic enzymes come into the picture.
Once the pancreatic enzyme comes in the form of lipase, these will now digest the fats in the food particles. The fats are then properly sorted and converted and passed into the blood which will make use of them for energy.
Whatever food particles are left is further broken down in the intestines and if the intestines contain waste and pathogens, they are also acted upon, destroyed and passed out of the body in the form of waste materials.
Protein enzymes are essential to the human body, especially the metabolic process which is essential to absorption of nutrients so the body can function beautifully.
